Asteria (/əˈstɪəriə/, Ἀστερία)  |happy valentine’s day, @blackthorny|

Daughter of the Titans Coeus and Phoebe and sister of Leto. She was married to the Titan Perses, and had a daughter, Hecate. Asteria was of the goddess of oracles and prophecies of night, including prophetic dreams, the reading of the stars, and necromancy and shooting stars. Zeus pursued her, but Asteria instead turned into a quail and fell into the Aegean to escape. It was then that the God Poseidon pursued her and the quail she became then turned into the island Ortygia (quail) which later became known as Delos.

“Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.” (x)
